MomsMentoring

...building strong marriages and Christian families

Getting to know our team...

Linda Reeb

Linda grew up in Canada but has been a NC gal for the past 25 years. After working in a dental office and raising a family, she felt a calling to come alongside young moms to support and encourage them.

As the founder of MomsMentoring 12 years ago, Linda enjoys teaching and mentoring young mothers at a fascinating season of their lives. Her passion is to see women, applying the Bible’s wisdom to their lives, become all they are meant to be, while building strong marriages and Christian families.

Linda enjoys spending time with her husband Lloyd, keeping up with her 5 young adult children (and 1 very fun granddaughter) and you can often find her out running with friends, working in the garden, or with her nose in a book.

Shelley Byrne

Shelley and her husband Mike of 23 years are blessed to be the parents to three older children; Hannah, Emma & Nathan. The first 10 years of marriage brought all three children, 7 moves and 5 different states. The one constant that remained during those years of change was the need for community. That became paramount once the children started coming along. Shelley found MOPS when her oldest was only 2 years old and serving within the MOPS community became a foundation in Shelley's mothering journey. Even when her children grew past the preschool years, she has continued working with MOPS as a Mentor Mom. After meeting Linda at a MOPS meeting and hearing Linda's shared passion for moms and young families, Shelley has been a Table Leader at MomsMentoring for 4 years now. During their family time, the Byrnes enjoy spending time on the water, playing cards, corn hole and board games. They also love a good movie night with homemade pizza!

Kim Harvey

Kim has been married to Brad for over 30 years. She is mom to Chase, who attends Champlain College in VT, and Tessa, who attends Mooresville Middle School. Kim has been a mentor mom for almost 10 years, starting with MOPS and later with MomsMentoring. She enjoys encouraging mommas to be the best mom and wife they can be and also reassuring them that they will make mistakes, but children are very forgiving. Kim has had the privilege of working from home for over 25 years as software support for the Boards of Education in West Virginia, where she grew up. Kim is actively involved with the Bridges program through the Christian Mission, Treasurer for her daughter’s school PTSO and she leads a neighborhood Bible Study. Kim enjoys tennis, hiking, walking and camping. One of her favorite Bible verses is Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Lynette Saxton

Lynette and her husband Michael have been married for 29 years. They are the parents to four beautiful daughters ages 17 to 27. Their family moved to NC in 1995 and it is here she began caring for her family full time. This is also where God began to teach her through her salvation in Christ and the homeschooling of her daughters. The *homeschooling* way of life lasted for the next sixteen crazy, fun years. Shortly after her youngest daughter enrolled in public school, Lynette and her family began a five-year journey caring for her mother, who was suffering from debilitating Parkinson’s and Dementia. Since her mother’s passing in late 2019, you will find her working out, tackling a house project, connecting with friends and eagerly seeking what God has in store for her next.

Beth Perryman

Beth and her husband Drew are parents of two college kiddos- Jason at NC State and Haley at UNC Wilmington. The family loves spending time on the water, both at Lake Norman and down at Carolina Beach. Beth grew up in Winston-Salem and moved to the Charlotte area after graduating from Appalachian State University. Beth had a career in banking and juggled being a mom and working full time when her children were young. She has worked and volunteered in a variety of different settings; from being a 2nd grade teacher’s assistant, to serving at the Food Truck for West United Methodist Church, to assisting her husband who is a financial advisor. Beth has been a part of MomsMentoring since the early days. She can be found behind the scenes helping set up for MomsMentoring meetings, updating the website, organizing an online curriculum and encouraging moms and others.
